A new year is upon us and many people have, undoubtedly, made their annual resolutions. I've decided to take a different approach in 2010 by not making any new year's resolutions at all.
It occurred to me, earlier this week, that resolutions are notorious for losing steam like a locomotive with no coal in its iron belly and are more a catalyst for disappointment than change. So, I'm not making any resolutions and I hope that choosing not to make one isn't the same as making one (smile).
This year I'm not resolving to do anything. I'm just going to live with the understanding that I'm imperfect and can do nothing but lean completely and totally on the understanding of God and His undying love for me. God can't work with me if I can't be honest with myself and with Him. And, honestly, I need His help and that's okay. Period.
Happy New Year and remember ... The key to change is to make it because there is a need for it and not because its a new year, there is a deadline to meet or because others told you that you probably should. Change for the better for the sake of changing for the better.
Be happy.
